The new normal at Stitching Kitchen

Covid-19 risk assessment and changes to workshop / social stitch practice.

Your safety and that of my family is in the forefront of my mind as we tentatively reopen after the lengthly lockdown.  If there is one thing we have learnt; this pandemic is an ever changing beast so we need to be flexible.   With that in mind here is what I will be doing at Stitching Kitchen in order to welcome you back!

I have measured the space and with a one meter plus arrangement I can accommodate 8 people at a maximum - however in most circumstances there will be less that this.   With the additional cleaning and preparation now needed I will be applying a minimum number of attendees to ensure the workshop is viable, your date may be postponed due to this so please do all you can to spread the word about the workshops you wish to attend so this doesn’t need to happen.

The major change to how I operate workshops is that there will be no opportunity to share equipment or materials, no raiding the stash and no moving freely.  You can sit back and relax as I provide table service and preplanned packs of materials and equipment.  I will email you ahead of the workshop for your colour and theme preferences where appropriate.

When you arrive you will enter via the garden gate and back door and will be asked to wash your hands or use hand sanitiser.  Please be assured the Stitching Kitchen will have been cleaned prior to your arrival.  You will need to wait until everyone arrives before the normal greeting from Lilly the Jug pup!

The doors and windows will be open so do bring an extra layer.   You may wear a face mask, although you will need to remove it for eating and drinking.

You will be sitting still for the duration, if for the sake of your body you need to move or are highly likely to need to toilet please let me know and I can seat you closest to the exit.

Social Stitch sessions will need to change from an informal drop in to a ticketed event so that I can set up the space and cleanse - deadline for booking your spot will be midnight Thursday for Friday 10:00 to 12:30 and payment online rather than cash.

I will continue to provide tea/coffee and a slice of homemade cake however it will be at just one point halfway through the session, if you are going to need more refreshment than that please bring your own.

1m+ social distancingMost of all please be a responsible stitcher!  If you or a member of your household has symptoms DO NOT ATTEND.   I have changed my terms and condition to include a postponement should we need to reschedule due to a local lockdown or if my household becomes unwell or needs to isolate.

If you have any questions about the new ‘normal’ here at Stitching Kitchen please don’t hesitate to get in touch.
