{"product_id":"courthouse-steps-log-cabin-quilt-block-workshop","title":"Courthouse Steps \/ Log Cabin - Quilt Block Workshop","description":"\u003cp\u003eThe Courthouse steps and log cabin quilt blocks are made in very similar ways so it is up to you which form you choose to make.  Both blocks are quick to piece by machine and you may even get a second block made in the session\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eThis workshop will teach you how to :\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cul\u003e\n  \u003cli\u003eAccurately cut your fabric strips\u003c\/li\u003e\n  \u003cli\u003eUsing a 1\/4 inch foot to piece on your sewing machine\u003c\/li\u003e\n  \u003cli\u003eSquaring up the blocks \u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003c\/ul\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThis workshop is suitable for all, including if this is your first patchwork quilt experience.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eFabric Requirements:\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eSeveral colours of fabric in dark, medium and light tones - a traditional log cabin includes a red square in the centre.   You will need strips of approximately 2.5 inches width - total of around a half meter amount in total. \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThis quilt block workshop works beautifully as a standalone project, and the finished block could easily be transformed into a cushion. If, however, you'd like to create something larger, there are plenty of options available including a table runner, lap quilt or bed cover quilt.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eYou might choose to make several of the same block, or combine it with some of the other blocks featured in our workshop programme to design a quilt that is uniquely your own.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eWe also run regular Sash, Sandwich and Snack sessions to help you bring your quilt together. These workshops cover adding optional sashing between your blocks, incorporating borders, and preparing your quilt sandwich.  You are very welcome to quilt your project yourself, or, if you prefer, have it completed by a professional long-arm quilter.
