About Us

Stitching Kitchen was set up by me, Hannah Thompson, as a way to share my passion for Textiles.  After years working in science and then scientific recruitment; I found myself at a cross road.  I had somehow got though a tough time with my mental health and a difficult divorce, I thought things were settled but then after feel disillusioned with the world of recruitment I felt it was time to take the plunge and do something more creative.

I was stitching almost everyday as I found it helped my mental health to be creative. “Maybe I could make some money from that?” That thought came several years ago now in the summer of 2017 and, although Stitching Kitchen has become somewhat different to the original plan, it is great fun and helps support me and my family.

Stitching Kitchen is based in Brackley, Northamptonshire initially in the kitchen of my home but now in a studio split into two spaces one for messy textile creations and another for sewing.  I run workshops in my creative spaces and have all manner of fabrics, threads, machines and notions to help me and my guests have fun with all things textiles.

As the business continues to develop I continue to run workshops and create textile art.  I have a growing a team of expert tutors to run workshops with Children and in Knitting, Crochet, Print making and tailoring to make Stitching Kitchen the destination for all things textiles!
