Meet our tutors

Hannah 

Owns and runs Stitching Kitchen she is passionate about textile art and sewing, teaches embroidery, felt making, textile art, use of sewing machines, free motion stitching and basic dressmaking.

Vee

A life long crafter with a wealth of experience in knitting, crochet, paper making and book binding and amazing imagination.  Vee runs our Coffee and Craft sessions each Tuesday evening with a different craft each week.

Lindsey

Lindsey grew up with a crafty mum who has inspired her dressmaking Lindsey discovered she loved sewing with stretch / knit fabrics during lockdown.  She is passionate about sharing her knowledge so everyone can sew stretchy garments for every body shape.  Lindsey can also help you learn to love your overlocker.

Sonia

Sonia loves to crochet, garments, toys, homewares – just about everything in every type of yarn!!  Not only that she is a teacher during the day and is very skilled and patient, she passes on her skills with a hook.  Left or right handed Sonia has a gentle encouraging way to get you hooked on crochet.

Helen

Professionally trained in pattern cutting and costume design Helen has spent years fitting wedding dresses and costumes to all bodies types.  She has an encyclopaedic knowledge of dressmaking and shares her skills during weekly dressmaking sessions and garment sewing workshops

Priti

Priti loves to sew. Her mum was a seamstress and she loved to watch her work.   Priti found time during lockdown to get back into sewing, she teaches in her day job and is blending her skills to run beginner sewing workshops. 

Emma

Emma studied Textiles at university and worked in child wear design.  She has a teaching and training qualification and teaches at various sewing studios across the UK and is often helping independent pattern designers at the big sewing shows on their stands.

Jenny

Jenny is a quilt maker with 30 years experience, she loves applique.  She designs quilts and teaches too.  Jenny has also trained to service sewing machines, she supports us with our PFAFF machines and also teaches the DIY machine maintenance workshop.  

Lindsay

A skilled crafter with a passion for sharing her skills and knowledge in bobbin lace, join Lindsay for a lacemaking taster session at Stitching Kitchen

Heather

Heather has a passion for up-cycling and reusing textiles, having worked in the fashion industry she is aware of the pre-consumer waste and therefore wants to help everyone keep their clothes in circulation longer.  She is keen to encourage mending and finding new uses with up-cycling and delivers workshops around these aims.
