Beginner Quilt - Bordered Nine Patch Jelly Roll Quilt

Whether or not you have never made a patchwork quilt before, if you fancy joining us for a weekly patchwork course using jelly rolls you will be very welcome. This course covers patchwork quilt basics, spread over four evening sessions. 

We will be using a ‘Jelly Roll’ pack. These are width of fabric two and a half inch strips, which are sold in coordinating and complimentary colours to save us having to think too hard about fabric choices. There are two ticket options with or without a Jelly roll.

We will create simple quilt blocks using the strips so the quilt will come together (relatively) quickly. Once the piecing of blocks is done, we will join with sashing, create a quilt sandwich and quilt using the machine. Last but not least we will cover binding.

• Tuition: full instruction and support in a small class (maximum of 6).
• Use of our Pfaff and Janome machines in Stitching Kitchen's fully equipped studio.
• Printed copy of the pattern.
• Tea and cake.

About your tutor

Hannah has been crafting since she was a child, she loves textile art, making with fabric, thread and fibre. She teaches and shares her passion and skills in textile art, felt making and also dressmaking and quilting.

Instructions 

On the first session bring along a Jelly Roll and a quarter inch presser foot if you are bringing your own machine.

Please note that this workshop is held in our light and spacious first floor studio at Stitching Kitchen, which is accessible by stairs.
