Seminole is a form of strip patchwork originating in Florida by the Seminole Native Americans. You will piece this block on the sewing machine

This workshop will teach you how to :

  • Creative two distinct seminole designs
  • Accurate cutting and piecing of fabrics

This workshop is suitable for those who have enjoyed making several patchwork quilt projects and are looking to build their skills repertoire.

Fabric Requirements:

  • 2 contrasting fabrics for the design and a background fabric - a fat quarter of each will be fine.

This quilt block workshop works beautifully as a standalone project, and the finished block could easily be transformed into a cushion. If, however, you'd like to create something larger, there are plenty of options available, including a table runner, lap quilt or bed cover quilt.

You might choose to make several of the same block, or combine it with some of the other blocks featured in our workshop programme to design a quilt that is uniquely your own.

We also run regular Sash, Sandwich and Snack sessions to help you bring your quilt together. These workshops cover adding optional sashing between your blocks, incorporating borders, and preparing your quilt sandwich. You are very welcome to quilt your project yourself, or, if you prefer, have it completed by a professional long-arm quilter. We can then guide you through the final stage of finishing your quilt with binding.

Whether you're making a single statement piece or embarking on a full quilt project, we'll be here to support you every step of the way.
