About Style Falcon
Style Falcon sewing patterns are thoughtfully designed for women of menopause age and beyond, enabling them to create a handmade wardrobe that fits their bodies and their lives, without the hassle of adapting patterns designed for much younger bodies.
Unlike most sewing patterns, Style Falcon patterns are drafted for a mature figure - not a youthful hourglass figure. That means:
Little bust-to-waist definition
Lower bust points, for a “C” to “D” cup
More room at the tummy, hip and sleeve bicep
Center-back seams, with rounded back and forward shoulder shaping
For people about 5’4” (about 163 cm)
About the Gorgeous Godet Top
Twirl through life in this striking knit top. Slight gathering at the side seams provide shaping for the bust. Godets at the hem bring drape and drama.
Create a sleeveless layering piece with a classic banded neckline, or make a statement with an elegant cowl and long sleeves.
Fabric Choices
The Gorgeous Godet Top works best with lightweight knits with four-way stretch, such as jersey and ITY. Wider fabric is recommended, as this top has some large pieces.
For contrasting godets, you will need about 1 yard/meter for all sizes.
“With nap” layouts are provided for directional prints or luxe fabrics, such as stretch velvet.
This pattern is not suitable for striped fabrics for the bodice - but try a contrasting godet in horizontal or vertical stripes to add dimension.
Sewing Experience and Help
This pattern comes with a free video tutorial on YouTube. The pattern is suitable for beginners through advanced sewers.
Pattern and Instructions Formats
The Gorgeous Godet Top comes in two layered .pdf formats - A0 and Letter. The A0 files are on two sheets of paper; both are needed for View A or View B. The Letter format is on 36 pages with the View B sleeve and cowl at the end of the file.
Instructions are offered in standard print and large-print formats for accessibility. All measurements and instructions are provided in Imperial and metric units.
